Welcome to LebTown’s second Friday open thread!
We launched this feature last week with a question: What’s your favorite meal in Lebanon County?
We got some great responses – the Capellini Pomodoro with crabmeat at Trat Frat, Hollywood Roll at Misago, and Kylie’s Bangin’ Burger from Babe’s Grille to name a few – and it was your editor’s unenviable chore to choose a favorite. This week’s honor goes to commenter Ruth Martin, who left a complete description of her order from Taqueria El Compadre at the Lebanon Farmers Market (guac and chips, tacos al pastor, and a horchata). Congratulations, Ruth! We’ll be reaching out to arrange for your $25 gift card … possibly to Taqueria El Compadre? It seems only fitting!
This week, we’ve got another prompt and another prize. There’s a $25 gift card up for grabs to whomever leaves the best comment. “Best” in this case will be determined by your humble LebTown editor based on objective criteria including insightfulness, humor, and relevance.
This week’s prompt: What’s your most memorable story of outdoor adventure in Lebanon County?
Maybe you’re like a certain sister and brother-in-law of mine, who somehow got lost on Governor Dick (rescued by modern cell service and a GPS-aided pickup). Or perhaps you’ve braved all 42-miles of the Swattie in a kayak, stumbled on the ghosts of Stony Valley during a hike, or biked the entire Lebanon Valley Rail Trail with a questionable pitstop for a Jigger.
If you need inspiration for your own adventure, or just want to jog your memory, check out our stories on eight of the best hikes in Lebanon County and eight of the best bicycle trails in and around Lebanon County.
LebTown members, make sure to login with your LebTown account and you’ll receive a special badge in the comments. This contest, however, is open to all.
Have at it.
