Nickolas Sieber’s Traditional Jazz and Ragtime Festival at Trinity Lutheran Church of Colebrook

Nickolas Sieber, 25, of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, is pleased to announce that his Traditional Jazz & Ragtime Festival is slated for Saturday, Aug. 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Colebrook.

Sieber’s festival will include performances from renowned artists, Miss Maybell and Charlie Judkins, duet, of NYC, Ramona Baker, pianist, of NYC, Gavin Rice, banjoist, of Rochester, NY, and the Blackbird Society Orchestra, of Philadelphia, PA.

In addition to music, professional dancers, Roddy Caravella and Gretchen Fenston, will lead a 1920s dance lesson of the peabody. A social dance of foxtrots, tangos, swing, and more will run throughout the course of the festival.

Off the dance floor, the excitement of a 1920s lawn party will continue with pre-war car rides, a croquet tournament, fashion displays, and special guest R.W. Tintypes offering authentic 19th-century tintype photography sittings. Trinity Lutheran Church of Colebrook will prepare the bill of fare available for purchase.

“It has been my passion to share America’s rich history from the turn of the 20th century through WWII with my younger generation. Many people do not recognize that this was an era of exciting changes in music, fashion, architecture, art, and innovations. From hot new dances with jazz music to the thrill of the automobile, the Machine Era was a thrilling time to live in! Now, thanks to my festival, people will have an opportunity to experience the attractions of this forgotten generation!”

Swing Dance Classes With Rhythm Lounge at Hall of Philosophy

The Rhythm Lounge is a local collective with the goal of bringing you some of the best dance instructors, choreographers, and genuinely fun and kind people who know how to teach and work consistently on improving your experience on the dance floor. This class is for all levels.

Carla Crowen has been teaching Lindy Hop and other forms of vintage swing dancing for over 20 years. She has traveled the globe as an invited instructor and artist of swing dancing in order to share her passion and knowledge. She is currently the creator and director of The Rhythm Lounge (Lindy Central) and is working hard to cultivate a strong community of dance in the Central Pennsylvania area.
