The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. at Coleman Memorial Park, 1400 W. Maple St., Lebanon.
“It will be a fun day filled with earth-friendly activities for the whole family,” Abigail Harvey, executive director for the conservancy, said in a press release. “We can’t wait to celebrate our milestone anniversary with the people who are the heart of our work; our supporters, donors, volunteers and community!”
The event will include food trucks, a bounce house, a scavenger hunt, a slow ride with Lebanon Bicycle Recycle, sustainability demos (featuring Fount & Fill), a poster contest (more information can be found at local libraries), a bird walk with Quittapahilla Audubon Society, and more.
“We’ll be announcing more activities and post a schedule as we finalize plans with our community partners,” Harvey added, noting that updates can be found on the group’s website and Facebook page.
The fair is free and open to the public, but online registration is recommended. More information on the event is available online.
The Lebanon Valley Conservancy works with local organizations, landowners, members, and volunteers to plant trees, preserve land, provide educational scholarships, and host or co-host community events. For instance, they work with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation Keystone 10 Million Trees Partnership to plant trees to improve water quality and decrease runoff and pollutants to the bay; to date, the conservancy has planted more than 5,700 trees and conserved over 1,200 acres of land in the Lebanon Valley. They have also provided $21,000 in environmental scholarships since 2017, investing in local students and the next generation of environmental leaders.
The conservancy was formed in 2000.
