In 2010, Lebanon City faced serious challenges — financial instability, declining infrastructure, and a need for renewed direction. Mayor Sherry Capello stepped forward with decades of municipal government experience and a plan rooted in accountability, stability, and growth.
Since taking office, Mayor Capello has balanced the budget, erased deficits, built a financial reserve, and delivered meaningful improvements to our quality of life — all without raising property taxes for 10 consecutive years. And now, she’s proud to announce a proposed 2026 city budget that continues that streak for an 11th straight year — proof that fiscal responsibility and progress can go hand in hand.

As Lebanon moves forward, Mayor Capello’s vision for the next four years continues to focus on building a stronger, more vibrant city for everyone:

- Expanding housing opportunities: Developing a sustainable housing strategy that ensures all residents have access to safe, affordable homes.
- Revitalizing Downtown Lebanon: Creating a dynamic, walkable downtown that supports local businesses, attracts new restaurants and specialty shops, and celebrates the cultural and economic vitality of our community.
- Reinvesting in our neighborhoods: Transforming blighted, vacant, and condemned properties into valuable community assets — with a focus on areas that can make the biggest positive impact.
- Protecting taxpayer dollars: Continuing to provide responsible financial oversight, maintaining transparency, and ensuring every dollar is spent wisely.

Lebanon’s progress didn’t happen by chance — it’s the result of steady leadership, community partnerships, and citizens like you who care about our city’s future.
