Editor’s Note: Michael and Nicole Borrell review Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. The couple aims to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to partner with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!
We had the chance to try some of the new and classic offerings at the Pennsylvania Farm Show food court. While we can’t eat everything there in one sitting, we can give you a brief rundown of our thoughts.
Some new items this year, including a blue raspberry milkshake from the PA Dairymen’s Association. Also new this year is pickle pizza which can be found at the FFA stand.
But the one new item that we really wanted to try was Dubai chocolate covered strawberries. This comes at a cost of $15 and it takes some time to put it together, but it was definitely worth it! Hopefully when you go up, the lines won’t be that long for you to get your own.

The new flavor of milkshake this year is blue raspberry to coincide with America’s 250th birthday. Your flavors of choice are vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry as well. You can also get a mix of vanilla and chocolate. The milkshake is always delicious but had sort of a cotton candy flavor rather than a strong blue raspberry flavor.

Next time we visit we will get a chance to try the mushroom breakfast burrito and mushroom coffee. The mushroom coffee does have me intrigued.
What else is new this year? The pickle pizza is just that, pickles on what tastes like pastry dough. One person asked what the white sauce is while we waited, and a worker stated it includes mayo, sour cream, and a dill pickle seasoning. At one point I thought I was eating a pickle croissant. For us, this one doesn’t seem like one to wait for.

As is with every year at the Farm Show the food court itself is jammed into a very tight area. There are long lines which leave you with no idea where they end up, and seemingly can go on forever and ever, so queue length will be the ultimate decision in what it is that you eat.
And of course, even with all the food that they serve up there, they only have limited seating available for everybody.
So for us, there is some new things up there that were good in our book but more often times you’re gonna want to stick to your tried and true favorites. For us our ultimate favorite is the fried veggies. You can never go wrong there!
