The South Lebanon Township Board of Supervisors approved an engineering agreement with Steckbeck Engineering for a stormwater project in Hebron at the board’s meeting Tuesday, Jan. 27.

This approval is just one step in the process, as several others are required before the project can begin, including approval from PennDOT because the new drainage would connect to the agency’s existing system.

“Beginning at Apple Alley and Fulmer Street, it would run down Apple Alley to Moravian Street and take it out to 5th Avenue and connect to an existing storm sewer there,” said township manager Jamie Yiengst.

The length of the project is estimated to be roughly 250 feet.

The board also approved the purchase of a “Muffin Monster” for the Fox Ridge Pumping Station to replace the current equipment in place. The device grinds up items that should not be flushed down toilets, helping protect the sewer system. Cost for the machine is $12,445.66.

In other business, supervisors:

  • Approved the promotion of Officer Logan Firestine to tenured patrolmen.
  • Approved several event requests for usage of the South Hills Park.
  • Approved thru lots at 102 Stone Hedge Court and 148 Valley View Place.

South Lebanon Township supervisors will next meet at 1800 S. 5th Ave. at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10.
