South Londonderry Township police announced Friday evening that 68-year-old Michael B. Mikula has been charged in relation to the discovery of the body of his wife, 66-year-old Sharlene A. Mikula.
As has been previously reported, Sharlene Mikula was pronounced dead Tuesday at the couple’s home on the 300 block of Timber Lane after authorities responded to a well-being check. The Lebanon County hazmat team was dispatched to remove the body, WGAL reported, adding that hazmat crews assist the coroner when a body is in a state of decomposition.

South Londonderry Township police listed five charges against Michael Mikula, including neglect of a care-dependent person, abuse of corpse, recklessly endangering another person, obstructing administration of law, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
The case was investigated by detectives Robert Lighty of South Londonderry Township police and Ryan Adams of the Lebanon County Detective Bureau.
Mikula was taken into custody without incident at the South Londonderry Township Police Department on Friday, April 17, police said. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge David Warner. The case is currently pending filing in the state’s Unified Judicial System.
