Editor’s Note: In 2021, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!

Welcome to our highly anticipated Lebanon Valley Soft Pretzel Wars. Five entrants from the Valley will compete to be declared the winner of Best Soft Pretzel in The Valley.

We will travel to each entrant and try one regular soft pretzel and one other item from the menu that is made with a soft pretzel.

We conclude this “War” down at the very southern tip of the Valley. Located along State Route 501 just south of Schaefferstown and the county line sits The Pretzel Hut, a popular spot, known for its pretzels, ice cream, burgers, and petting zoo.

They offer hand-rolled regular soft pretzels and a pretzel dog, as well as their other full menu items and ice cream.

Our selection for judgement today was a regular soft pretzel and a pretzel dog.

The regular pretzel comes with a soft buttery coating and lite on the salt. It has a soft crunch and a soft center that almost melts in your mouth. Any fan of an Amish pretzel would like this one.

The pretzel dog is their pretzel evenly wrapped around the dog. It also comes with a little salt on it, and the bottom has a thicker crunch. A savory comfort snack.

Did we just have the best soft pretzel in the Valley?

We will now tabulate our scores and will announce a winner soon!
