The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire has been sold to a private equity firm, LancasterOnline reported Wednesday.

According to the report, Lancelot Entertainment bought the festival for an undisclosed sum, as well as paying $5.9 million for five real estate parcels surrounding the main 51-acre fairgrounds, which was not included in the transaction.

Scott Bowser, who had owned the festival since 2005 with wife Heather, declined to share details with LancasterOnline regarding the financial arrangement with the faire’s new owner for use of the main fairgrounds property. Bowser described the acquisition to LancasterOnline as a “partnership” and said that they will continue operating the festival for its new owners.

Lancelot Entertainment has raised $63 million to date, according to SEC filings, and previously purchased Renaissance faires in Massachusetts, Georgia, and Texas.
