Lebanon County 4-H recently presented $2,000 academic awards to three Lebanon County 4-H members based on their 4-H activities, community involvement, and academic achievement.
The program provides scholarships to 4-H members who are high school seniors or college freshmen pursuing advanced degrees, according to a press release from the organization.
This year’s recipients are:
- Mackenzie Stellmach of Annville, who plans to attend Harrisburg Area Community College to become a radiology technician. A member of the 4-H Friends Club, she has focused her project work in clothing and textiles “and provided leadership for numerous club community service activities,” the release said.
- Jesslyn Risser of Lebanon, who attends Penn State University with a major in animal science. A member of the Lebanon County Livestock 4-H Club and the NoSoAnn Dairy 4-H Club, she has been an active 4-H member for 10 years, serves as president of her clubs, and was the Pennsylvania State Dairy Princess.
- Stella Klynoot of Fredericksburg, who plans to attend Drexel University and major in fashion design. A member of the 4-H Friends Club, she has completed clothing and textiles projects for 10 years and received top honors in the state 4-H fashion and textiles revue. She was also a delegate to the 4-H National Congress held in Atlanta, Georgia.
Youth between the ages of 5 and 18 are eligible to become members of the 4-H program, which offers a wide variety of “learn-by-doing” projects and activities, the release explained. For information about 4-H Clubs in Lebanon County, contact the Lebanon County Extension Office at 717-270-4391.
