Cornwall Manor held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Clubhouse at the Woods, a community center for residents of the senior living facility, Thursday morning.
On the top floor of the 24,000-square-foot Clubhouse, Cornwall Manor residents can visit a restaurant (Bistro 1949, honoring the year Cornwall Manor was formed), a cafe (Ironmaster Grill), and an auditorium.

Seating at Bistro 1949. The names of facilities at the Clubhouse were carefully selected to honor the history of Cornwall Manor and the surrounding community, McConnell said.
The bottom floor, also accessible by elevator, contains a theater, a lounge, and several health- and wellness-focused facilities.
A primary motivation for the roughly $13 million project, Cornwall Manor president and CEO Harry McConnell said, is the health of residents. Facilities include a wellness studio, rehab therapy, a massage room, and HydroWorx therapy.
“When we first imagined this building, we didn’t simply envision walls, windows, and gathering spaces,” said McConnell. “We envisioned a place where residents would connect with one another, where friendships would deepen, where wellness would flourish, and where our mission of providing an exceptional senior living experience would continue to grow. Today, that vision stands before us.”
The Clubhouse has been a long time in the making, said McConnell. After approval in 2023 and groundbreaking June 2024, the project was initially anticipated to be finished in 2025. However, McConnell said, unexpected setbacks delayed completion of what ended up being “a very tough project.”
He thanked residents for their patience, noting that the Cornwall Manor board received nothing but support for the project along the way. He also thanked donors, the board of directors and Pyramid Construction, saying, “We journeyed together, but I could not think of a better partner to be by our side.”
Though the Clubhouse is connected to Cornwall Manor’s Woods campus, which includes around 120 homes, its facilities will also be open to residents of the original Buckingham campus (accessible through the Lebanon Valley Rail Trail or by shuttle).
The Trailside Organic Farm, Cornwall Manor’s two-acre organic farm on the Woods campus, will provide produce for the Clubhouse.

Cornwall Manor has also begun excavating and grading the site of apartment buildings that will be constructed next to the Clubhouse.
