A man wanted in connection with a Philadelphia homicide was arrested in the city early Friday during a routine traffic stop, Lebanon City Police said.
Officers stopped a vehicle near North Fifth and Willow streets at about 1:30 a.m. July 24 and took Dennis Patton, 42, into custody. Police said Patton had an active homicide arrest warrant issued by the Philadelphia Police Department.
The warrant stems from the May 6 shooting death of Walter S. Holloway, 31, in Philadelphia’s Point Breeze neighborhood, according to earlier reports.
Philadelphia police said officers responded about 10:31 p.m. that day to a report of a crowd disturbance on the 2100 block of Wharton Street. While heading to the scene, officers heard gunshots and found Holloway in the road with gunshot wounds to his head and leg, police said. He was taken to a hospital, where he died a short time later.
Philadelphia police issued the arrest warrant for Patton on June 17 and had asked for the public’s help in locating him before his arrest in Lebanon.
