City of Lebanon

Fatal Pedestrian Accident – On June 7, 2021 at 10:53 a.m., police were dispatched to a traffic accident involving a vehicle and pedestrians at the intersection of North 10th St. and Lehman St. Police determined a vehicle being operated south on North 10th St. stopped for the red traffic signal at Lehman St. The vehicle turned left (east) onto Lehman St. as the pedestrian pushing a baby stroller was crossing Lehman St. from the northeast corner to the southeast corner of North 10th St. and Lehman St. The vehicle struck the 28 year old woman and the baby stroller. The stroller was occupied by the woman’s 15 week old baby. The 60 year old male Operator and the 4 year old Passenger in his vehicle were not injured. The 28 year old woman was transported to a local medical facility for treatment of her injuries and is recovering. The baby suffered fatal injuries as a result of the accident. The Lebanon County Coroner is scheduling an autopsy for the infant. Lebanon City Police are being assisted in the investigation by the Lebanon County District Attorney’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team. This is an ongoing investigating. Cornwall Borough

Deer Struck – A 51 year old New Egypt, NJ woman struck a deer on June 4, 2021 at 11:28 a.m. on SR 72 North, just north of the SR 322 overpass. No injuries occurred as a result of this crash. The vehicle sustained minor damage but was drivable. The deer fled.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident – On June 3, 2021 at 2:55 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2016 Nissan Versa, driven by Operator 1, a 54 year old Jenkins Twp. woman, was traveling northbound on I 81 in the area of Exit 85 in East Hanover Twp. Unit 1 traveled off of the right shoulder and struck a guide rail end with its front end. After initial impact, Unit 1 spun clockwise 45 degrees, traveled down a small embankment, traveled back up the embankment, traveled across both northbound lanes, spun 90 degrees clockwise, entered the center grass median, and struck a raised embankment with its rear end. Unit 1 came to final rest facing south in the center median. Operator 1 sustained minor injuries from not being seat belted and was transported to the Good Samaritan Hospital. Operator 1 was charged with numerous traffic violations, including Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic. Charges are pending before MDJ Ditzler.

Jackson Township

Vehicle Accident – On June 2, 2021 at 7:32 a.m., this crash occurred on South College St. at the intersection of Lengle Rd. in Jackson Twp. Unit 1, a 2011 Ford F350 pickup truck, driven by Operator 1, a 20 year old Womelsdorf man, rear-ended Unit 2, a 2010 General Motors Corp Yukon, driven by Operator 2, a 46 year old Myerstown man, after failing to observe stopped traffic. After impact, Unit 2 struck Unit 3, a 2004 Kenworth Northwest box truck, driven by Operator 3, a 70 year old Lebanon man. Operator 2 was transported via Myerstown First Aid Unit to the Hershey Medical Center for an apparent shoulder injury. Operator 1 and Operator 3 were not injured as a result of this crash. Unit 1 and Unit 2 were towed from the scene. Operator 1 was cited for Following Too Closely.

Vehicle Accident – On June 4, 2021 at 11:23 a.m., this reportable crash occurred at the intersection of West Main Ave. and North Fairlane Ave. in Jackson Twp. This four-way intersection is properly posted with stop signs. Unit 1, a 2018 Honda Accord, driven by Operator 1, a 19 year old Lebanon man, was traveling west on West Main Ave. and Unit 2, a 2014 Ford Focus, driven by Operator 2, a 34 year old Myerstown woman, was turning left, attempting to go north on North Fairlane Ave. Unit 1 entered the intersection without properly stopping at the stop sign and yielding to Unit 2. Operator 1 was not injured as a result of this crash. Operator 2 was injured as a result of this crash, but refused treatment for further medical treatment. Operator 1 was cited for Obedience to Traffic-Control Devices.

Millcreek Township

Harassment – On June 5, 2021 at 10:22 p.m., this crime occurred on East Main St. In the commission of this crime, the Arrestee bit the Victim in the back, causing a bruise. The Arrestee was a 38 year old Newmanstown woman. The Victim was a 38 year old Newmanstown man.

Myerstown Borough

Identity Theft – On June 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., State Police responded to West Washington Ave. for a report of a theft. Through investigation, it was determined that an unknown individual used the Victim’s personal information to file for unemployment benefits. The Victim was a 47 year old Myerstown man. The stolen property included the Victim’s Identity.

Vehicle Accident – On June 2, 2021 at 12:45 p.m., this crash occurred on North Goodwill St. at West Main Ave. in Myerstown Boro. Unit 1, a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder, driven by Operator 1, pulled out onto North Goodwill St. from a parked position. Unit 1 struck a two dolly attached to Unit 2, a 2011 General Motors Corp Acadia, driven by Operator 2, which was unoccupied. Unit 1 sustained minor damage to the front bumper as a result of this crash. Unit 1 sustained minor damage to the left marker light on the tow dolly as a result of this crash. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash.

Swatara Township

Theft – On June 5, 2021 at approximately 12:32 p.m., troopers of PSP Jonestown were dispatched to the 00 block of Old State Rd. in Swatara Twp. for a theft. Upon arrival, troopers learned that unidentified persons illegally obtained the Victim’s Cabela’s credit card and made fraudulent transactions in the amount of $85.57. The Victim was a 55 year old Jonestown woman. PSP Jonestown is investigating.

Union Township

Vehicle Accident – On June 4, 2021 at 7:20 a.m., this crash occurred on I 81 South near mile marker 90.5 in Union Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Operator 1, Kasey Fleming, a 26 year old Hegins woman, was traveling in the left lane at the above-listed location and subsequently struck Unit 2, a 2008 Honda Pilot, driven by Operator 2, a 39 year old Kingston man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 39 year old Kingston woman, on the driver’s side rear bumper. Both Unit 1 and Unit 2 were towed from the scene by Blatt and Tillett Towing. Operator 1, Operator 2, and all Occupants in Unit 2 reported no injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and Drug Possession. Operator 1 was also cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.

Drug Possession – On June 7, 2021 at 9:45 a.m., State Police responded to Micro Dr. for drug possession. Through investigation, it was determined that the Complainant ordered a television and was expecting it to be delivered. Instead of a television, the Complainant received a box containing marijuana and miscellaneous paraphernalia. Investigation is ongoing.

Vehicle Accident – On June 8, 2021 at 1:48 a.m., this crash occurred in the parking lot of Love’s Truck Stop, located at 22 Old Forge Rd. in Union Twp. Unit 1, a 2019 Kenworth Truck tractor-trailer, driven by Operator 1, was pulling into a parking stall when it struck the right side mirror and hood of Unit 2, a 2014 Peterbilt Truck tractor-trailer, driven by Operator 2. Minor damage to the right mirror and hood was observed on Unit 2 as a result of this crash. No damage was observed on Unit 1 as a result of this crash. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash and both vehicles were drivable.
