Editor’s Note: In 2021, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!
I grew up in the ’90s. We hung out at the mall a lot, and one of my favorite stops was the mall pizza place. Ours was called Dino’s, and my favorite slice was always a white broccoli pizza.
Now, if I want a quick and good lunch during work, I head to Mancino’s Pizza & Catering at the Lebanon Valley Mall. A lot of my coworkers like it there too, so when our boss (who is awesome by the way) offered to take us out for lunch since we’ve been very busy lately, we decided to go to Mancino’s. We all met up and were treated to a great lunch with great conversation.

Typically, my order is the same: cheesesteak hoagie, no onions with hot peppers. Today, I wasn’t as hungry, so I decided on just a slice.
All the different specialty pies looked good, but I centered in on a slice of margherita. (A whole pie is $9.50, but I didn’t take notice of what a single slice cost that day.) It is a white pizza brushed with oil, with garlic and tomatoes and a sprinkling of mozzarella. It was just what I was craving, but hopefully not too pungent as we were in close quarters sitting about six people around one of Mancino’s booths (anyone who has been there knows what I’m talking about).
I really enjoyed it, and, as my boss got the same thing, he agreed. My one coworker got my old favorite: broccoli, and he said he enjoyed his as well. Other meals included cheesesteaks, salads, and French fries. Everyone was pleased with their food.
Fast forward to a few weeks later, our other reviewer decided to visit Mancino’s during his lunch break. He settled on a small steak stromboli ($12.75). Its crispy crust envelopes steak, cheese, peppers, onions, and mushrooms. It was enough to share. I got to enjoy it for lunch the next day, and it was crispy and tasty. They also top the stromboli with a parmesan and seasoning combo that gives it an extra dose of flavor.
Our take: Mancino’s is a great option whether you’re looking for a pizza, stromboli, sub, or salad. They have a large menu, and all you have to do is walk in and look at their case of specialty pizzas, and you’re ready to order. The workers are friendly and work efficiently to get your order ready. They are nestled into a mall that might not always be busy, but they have kept their customers, and, when you visit, they’re usually the busiest part of the mall.
