It has felt like it’s been a while since we’ve eaten over in the east end of the Valley. We asked for suggestions and one of those submissions was an Italian place along Route 422. We loaded up the family car and made our way over to Tosco in Myerstown.
The last time we were in this spot it was the Kumm Esse diner. This restaurant can be a busy place, as was evident when we visited. From in-house dining to takeout orders, it is clearly a local favorite. There is also a second location in Wernersville. The dining room offers mostly booth seating and several large booth options for larger parties. The have an online ordering platform as well as the menu online.

For tonight’s dinner, we had to wait about 10 minutes for a seat. As for our meals, we ordered the Tosco Shrimp Alfredo ($14.95), Eggplant Parmigiana ($12.95), and our little critic got the kids chicken tenders with fries ($6.95). Our entrees came with side salad and each had a “large” option for $5 more. The entrees also come with your choice of pasta.
The shrimp Alfredo comes with six deep fried shrimp, roasted red peppers and spinach, and a pasta of choice, which was ziti for me. The fried shrimp was different than the usual shrimp Alfredo and for us didn’t work well in this dish. I am also not a fan of having remove the tail of shrimp from a pasta entrée. We were fans of the pepper and spinach in this dish.
The eggplant parm came with two breaded pieces of eggplant, ricotta, and marinara sauce served over angel hair pasta. The eggplant pieces were of medium thickness. Normally we prefer a thinner slice. The portion size of pasta was a fair amount.
Our take: Tosco is a local favorite that pumps out a lot of meals and pizzas. The meals are a fair portion size. The menu offers a wide selection without being too much. The staff is friendly and welcoming. They occasionally send out mailers with coupons and have an easy online ordering platform.
