The Ultimate Doors: Tribute to The Doors at The Allen Theatre

8 p.m., Friday, November 21 | 36 E. Main St., Annville

The Ultimate Doors was formed with the intention of preserving The Doors’ music and performances as well as bringing an authentic experience to the old and the new generations of Doors fans.

With great attention to detail, The Ultimate Doors provide their audiences with an authentic-looking and -sounding tribute to Jim Morrison & The Doors. From Jim Morrison’s leather outfits all the way down to the color of the microphone cable, The Ultimate Doors leaves no stone unturned in bringing an authentic Doors tribute show to the stage.

Front and center, taking on the role of Jim Morrison is Nash Stover. Nash doesn’t take his job of being Jim lightly. He studies Jim daily. From Jim’s vocals and stage persona to every detail of Jim’s ever-changing fashion sense, Jim Morrison was a complex man, and Nash deeply respects every part of Jim’s legacy, which shows true night after night on stage.

On the Gibson SG and playing the role of Robby Krieger is Todd Huffman. Todd has been a Doors fan his entire life and has always considered Robby Krieger to be the most underrated guitar player of all time. Todd puts in countless hours not only practicing Robby’s guitar licks, but also keeping every detail of Robby’s rig fine-tuned. Robby Krieger is a hard role to play, but Todd nails it.

It takes a man with two brains to pull off playing the part of Ray Manzarek. Manning the Gibson G-101 organ while keeping the low end going on the Fender Rhodes piano bass is Nate Shaw. Maintaining the thumping bass with his left hand and the snarling organ with his right, Nate really appreciates every ounce of talent that Ray Manzarek had.

On the Mod Orange Ludwig Downbeat kit, taking on the role of John Densmore is Jordyn Huffman. Jordyn learned to play drums to the Doors albums when he was a teenager and has considered John Densmore to be the best drummer of all time ever since. John’s style on and off the drums was unlike that of any other, and Jordyn loves that challenge.

Hope for Hurting Parents at North Cornwall Commons Apartment Complex 5th Floor Lounge

Free | 2 p.m., Sunday, November 23 | 114 Blackford Blvd., Lebanon

Hope For Hurting Parents was started by Tom and Dena Yohe in 2011, based on their own 10-year journey with their daughter Renee, who struggled with mental health issues, addiction, and self-injury. They continue to lead free Zoom meetings monthly and send out inspirational emails weekly. They encourage people to start small in-person groups in their own community, which we did three years ago.

People seem to find comfort and strength in meeting with others who have gone through similar situations. At our support group meetings, we discuss one of 22 topics as outlined in Yohe’s workbook, such as self-care, enabling, worry and anxiety, hope, and guarding your family. The workbook also includes prayers, exercises, websites, and other resources. Support group sessions are free and open to anyone who is a parent, caregiver, or loved one of someone who struggles with mental health issues, estrangement, addictions, gender dysphoria, incarceration, homelessness, or any other problem that causes you to experience emotional and spiritual turmoil. Our mission is to give comfort, encouragement, and hope to hurting parents/caregivers on their journey from surviving to thriving.
