At the July 14 meeting, South Londonderry Township supervisors granted a waiver request for a proposed subdivision’s undeveloped parcel in the township.

Brent Detter from David Miller Associates, representing Keystone Custom Homes, again approached supervisors regarding the proposed subdivision on a parcel of land straddling North Londonderry, South Annville, and South Londonderry townships.

The Wexley development is in North Londonderry, east of Hoffer Road, west of Killinger Creek, and south of Landmark Homes’ subdivision Summer Layne. There is a 1.2-acre undeveloped parcel in South Londonderry, and one of the stormwater basins discharges water across 0.27 acres of the parcel, on which no improvements are planned.

Chairwoman Faith Bucks reiterated concerns expressed at the April 14 meeting: “We were concerned because all this traffic is going to come to us and our roads, and we already had an issue at the traffic intersection” of Airport and South Forge roads, which is planned to become a roundabout. I realize we don’t have anything to make you do anything in that regards but we were hoping … they would help us out with something.”

Bucks and supervisor Bill Bova approved the motion to grant a waiver of land development plan processing for the undeveloped parcel in South Londonderry Township subject to Keystone Custom Homes paying an in-lieu-of fee of $10,000 and also entering into a professional services agreement with the township.

Vice chairman Jack Custer again excused himself from the discussion due to having a professional relationship with Keystone Custom Homes.

Near the end of the meeting, Mark Houser expressed opposition to the waiver due to increased traffic in the township and pointed out that supervisors did not ask for questions before approving the motion.

Supervisors unanimously approved a motion to approve the authorization of an offer letter to Sgt. Jared Zimmerman for chief of police.

Supervisors unanimously approved a motion to approve the lowest of two quotes for the 2026 township line painting, which was from Lincoln Pavement Services in the amount of $4,102.66.

Supervisors unanimously approved a motion to approve the low bid of $53,538.60 from Fontana Outdoors/Adventure World for a playset to replace one that was removed for safety reasons at the playground in Thistledown, locally known as Longenecker’s.

During public input, Pat Krebs shared an update on Dinosaur Rock, which is increasing its visibility with new signage. She also asked supervisors to consider reaching out to PennDOT District 8 or Lebanon County Maintenance about the possibility of placing pedestrian signage across Mount Wilson Road.

In other news, supervisors unanimously moved to:

  • Approve the June 9 supervisors’ meeting minutes (voted on by Bucks and Custer).
  • Approve the 12-26 and 13-26 bill and payroll lists (voted on by Bucks and Custer).
  • Approve the township manager’s report, which included:

  • Approve reports from South Londonderry Township Police, which included 188 incidents in June; Palmyra Public Library, which included receipt of a $9,000 donation from United Way through the Little Explorers Downtown program and an $825 donation from Palmyra Area Education Association through the end-of-the-school-year Dress Down Day; Campbelltown Volunteer Fire Company, which included 52 calls in June; Lawn Fire Company, which included 26 calls in June; First Aid and Safety Patrol of Lebanon; and Palmyra Area Recreation and Parks Commission.
  • Approve meeting minutes from the planning commission, fire board, municipal authority, and Western Lebanon County Regional Emergency Management Agency.

During special orders, Bucks announced that supervisors held an executive session to discuss a personnel matter prior to the regular meeting.

The South Londonderry Township Board of Supervisors’ next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 7 p.m., at 27 W. Market St., Palmyra. The municipal building features an on-site parking lot with ADA-accessible spaces.
