Editor’s Note: In 2021, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!
Welcome to our next, and possibly most unique to date, war. We are going to find the best date night – dinner and an activity – at the same restaurant/location.
Our judging will be based on the food (of course), any food or drink specials, the activity itself, and how much fun the night is. The critic crew loves to have date nights, so this is right up our alley.

We will try four date nights with different activities and declare a winner
We kickoff this “War” out near Fort Indiantown Gap at Snitz Creek Brewery Annville. We could have come out here any night of the week and have a date night as they have something going almost every night of the week with varying activities, but tonight the activity is Music Bingo from Cheaters Never Prosper Trivia; more on that later.

Our dinner tonight was the pizza smash burger with french fries ($17), ordered off their summer special menu, plus a hot honey burger with french fries ($18). We also had a blueberry lemonade margarita ($10) and the P4 sour ($7).
The pizza smash burger came with fried mozzarella, provolone, and marinara sauce on a brioche bun. The burger had a nice blend of flavors while not being messy. It comes with fresh cut fries, but we opted for the regular crispy house fries.

The hot honey burger comes with provolone, fried onions, bacon, lettuce, and hot honey ranch on a brioche roll. The little critic was already grabbing at the two bacon pieces hanging out on the side. The hot honey ranch had a subtle flavor but the burgers patties are delicious.

Now time for our activity, music bingo. But what is music bingo? Instead of calling numbers, the host plays 15 second clips of the song. You don’t need to know the song, because they tell you the title, so you won’t miss a spot. It’s a fun event whether you know the songs or not. And it’s easy playable while eating dinner and kid friendly. Kudos to the young lady calling the game tonight.

There are three games that are played. First round is a straight line, second round is a certain shape (L shape for this night), and the final round is a fill your card. A prize is given to each winner. On this night, the little critic won the first round and the final round!
Did we just have the best Date Night in the Valley?
Next up we will travel to our other entrants:
- Trivia at Union House Taproom & Livery
- Live Music at Blue Bird Inn
- Bowling @ Sinkhole Saloon/Palmyra Bowling
