Bethel Township

Residential Burglary – On Oct. 1, 2020 at 6:36 p.m., PSP responded to Sunrise Court in Bethel Twp. for a reported burglary. Upon PSP arrival, it was determined that a forcible burglary took place at the residence of a W/H-M. There were pry marks observed on the front door and a small safe was taken from the Victim’s bedroom. The safe contained $1,300.00 in cash, titles to vehicles, and multiple pieces of jewelry. The Victim was a 47 year old Lebanon man. If any information is known in relation to this incident, contact PSP Jonestown Station immediately. PSP is investigating.

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 1, 2020 at 7:32 p.m., this one-vehicle crash occurred on Blue Mountain Rd., south of its intersection with SR 22, in Bethel Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2012 Suzuki V Strom 10 (motorcycle), driven by Operator 1, a 58 year old Fredericksburg man, was traveling northbound on Blue Mountain Rd. As Unit 1 was traveling north, a deer stepped into the roadway. Unit 1 struck the deer and Operator 1 was thrown from the motorcycle.

Operator 1 suffered suspected serious injuries as a result of this crash and was transported to Hershey Medical Center by Life Lion EMS. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Fredericksburg Fire.

Residential Burglary – On Sept. 23, 2020 between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., troopers responded to Swopes Valley Rd. for a report of a burglary. Investigation revealed that unknown Actor(s) entered the residence on Sept. 23, 2020 between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The unknown Actor(s) moved various items around inside of the residence. The unknown Actor(s) fled the scene in an unknown direction by an unknown means. The Victim was a 21 year old Pine Grove man. Investigation is ongoing.

City of Lebanon

Drug Possession – On Sept. 6, 2020 at 1:04 a.m., a traffic stop conducted on Jonestown Rd. and Maple St. by members of PSP Jonestown yielded the seizure of methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription pills, and additional drug paraphernalia. The Arrestees were a 68 year old Lebanon man and a 49 year old Ephrata woman. The vehicle involves was a 2008 Mercedes-Benz C300. Charges for this incident have been filed in Magisterial District Court 52-2-01.

Cold Spring Township

Vehicle Accident – PSP Jonestown investigated a two-vehicle crash that occurred in the vicinity of the 00 block of Gold Mine Rd. in Cold Spring Twp. This crash occurred on Oct. 4, 2020 at approximately 3:03 p.m. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2007 Mercury Montego, driven by Operator 1, a 60 year old Jonestown woman, was traveling north on Gold Mine Rd. and was turning left into the driveway of a residence on the 00 block of Gold Mine Rd. Unit 2, a 2018 Yamaha YZF R1 (motorcycle), driven by Operator 2, a 40 year old Lancaster man, was traveling south on Gold Mine Rd. As Unit 1 was turning left, it was struck by Unit 2 in the rear passenger’s side fender/trunk. Unit 1 remained in the driveway. Unit 2 slid approximately 75 feet and came to a position of final rest on the the eastern shoulder.

Operator 1 reported no injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 2 was transported from the scene to Hershey Medical Center by Life Lion EMS. Operator 1 was cited for Required Position and Method of Turning. Operator 2 was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speeds. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Joe May’s Towing and Lickdale and Jonestown Fire Departments.

Heidelberg Township

Theft – On Sept. 29, 2020 at 11:45 a.m., PSP responded to The Mountain Motel, located at 4221 Stiegel Pike, Apt. 7, in Heidelberg Twp. for a reported theft of pills. Upon PSP arrival, it was determined that the Victim was missing approximately 118 Oxycodone HCL 10 mg tablets. The Victim believes that someone stole them from his apartment but there were no signs of forced entry. The Victim was a 63 year old Ephrata man. The stolen property included Oxycodone HCL 10 mg tablets. PSP is investigating.

Jackson Township

Drug Possession – On Sept. 29, 2020 at 8:00 a.m., PSP Jonestown responded to ELCO High School, located on Elco Dr., for a report of a (W/N-M, 17 year old) that was smoking out of a vape pen and believed to be under the influence. Upon PSP arrival, it was determined that four juveniles had smoked out of a vape pen containing THC oil. All four juveniles’ guardians were notified and requested to arrive at the school. The four juveniles were interviewed with their respective guardians. The vape pen, THC cartridge, and other drug paraphernalia were seized as evidence. PSP is investigating.

Jonestown Borough

Harassment – On Sept. 22, 2020 at approximately 8:03 p.m., PSP Jonestown troopers were dispatched to the 100 block of Fisher St. in Jonestown Boro. for a reported domestic. The investigation revealed that both parties had been physical with each other. Both parties were cited appropriately. The Victims/Arrestees were a 35 year old Gettysburg woman and a 46 year old Jonestown man.

Millcreek Township

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 3, 2020 at 6:29 a.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred on East Bethany Rd. in Millcreek Twp. This crash occurred when Unit 1, a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Operator 1, an 18 year old Newmanstown woman, was traveling east on East Bethany Rd. when it struck Unit 2, a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Operator 2, Robert Brown, a 60 year old Myerstown man, which was parked on the shoulder of the eastbound lane of East Bethany Rd. Unit 1 did not see Unit 2 and subsequently rear-ended the rear driver’s side of Unit 2. Operator 2 was delivering newspapers in the mailbox of the residence located on the 00 block of East Bethany Rd. with its turn signal on when it was struck by Unit 1.

Unit 1 sustained disabling front end damage. Unit 2 sustained disabling rear-end damage. Both Units were towed from the scene by CJ Wagner’s Towing Company. Operator 1 was evaluated by Newmanstown EMS and reported no injuries. Operator 2 was transported to the Hershey Medical Center by Western Berks EMS. Operator 2 sustained a suspected minor rib injury as a result of the crash. Operator 1 was cited for Careless Driving. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Newmanstown Fire Company and Fire Police, Newmanstown EMS, and Western Berks EMS.

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 5, 2020 at 3:26 a.m., this crash occurred on Rod and Gun Rd., just east of South Millbach Rd., in Millcreek Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2006 Ford Mustang, driven by Operator 1, a 20 year old Myerstown man, was traveling east on Rod and Gun Rd. as Operator 1 fell asleep. Unit 1 traversed off the right shoulder of Rod and Gun Rd. and struck a utility pole before coming to final rest, facing north.

Unit 1 sustained heavy and disabling damage to its front passenger’s side hood, bumper, fender, and door panel at the 2 o’clock position and was towed from the scene by Gilles Miller Towing. Operator 1 sustained no injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic and Careless Driving.

Myerstown Borough

Theft – On Oct. 4, 2020 at approximately 4:03 p.m., PSP Jonestown received a report of a theft of a bike occurring on the 00 block of East Center Ave., Apt. 2, in Myerstown Boro. The bike was subsequently located on the property of the Relax Inn and returned to the Victim. PSP is investigating.

North Annville Township

Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 – On Oct. 4, 2020 at 9:22 a.m., PSP responded to the 1,300 block of SR 934 in North Annville Twp. for a report of a criminal mischief. Upon PSP arrival, it was determined that at 1:00 a.m. a verbal argument between a couple, W/N-M and W/N-F; 25 year olds, took place in which the female kneed the male’s vehicle, causing a dent in the driver’s side door. The female was interviewed over the phone, in which she admitted to committing said act. An NTC to be filed for Criminal Mischief. The Arrestee was a 24 year old Annville woman. The Victim was a 33 year old Hershey man. The vandalized vehicle was a 1999 BMW 328I. PSP is investigating.

Tremont Township

Vehicle Accident, DUI – On Sept. 15, 2020 at 5:49 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2015 Nissan Juke (S, L, SV), driven by Operator 1, Patrick McDonald, a 34 year old Ashley man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 3 year old Ashley male, was traveling northbound on I 81 near mile marker 103.6. Unit 1 was traveling in the left-hand lane. Unit 2, a 1999 Kenworth Con, driven by Operator 2, a 56 year old Terrebonne, QC man, was traveling in the right-hand lane.

Unit 1, for an unknown reason, veered into the right travel lane, striking Unit 2. Upon impact, Unit 1 crossed back into the left lane before exiting the roadway via the left shoulder. Unit 1 then hit an embankment, causing Unit 1 to roll over one time before coming to its position of final rest, facing a west direction. Unit 2 came to its position of final rest on the right shoulder where the initial impact occurred.

Unit 1 sustained damage to the front-end, sides, and roof. Unit 2 sustained damage to the driver’s side. Operator 1 was not wearing a seatbelt when this crash occurred. Multiple airbags were deployed in Unit 1 as a result of this crash. Passenger 1 was properly restrained in a child safety seat and was evaluated by medical personnel on scene. Passenger 1 was not transported. Unit 1 was towed by Hammer’s Towing. Operator 2 was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and reported no injuries. No airbags were deployed in Unit 2 as a result of this crash. Unit 2 was driven from the scene by Operator 2. Operator 1 was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or a Controlled Substance at the Highest Rate of Alcohol. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Trooper Kline, Tremont Area Ambulance, Higgins EMS, Ravine Fire Department, Muhr Fire Company, and Hammer’s Towing.

Union Township

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 5, 2020 at 8:51 p.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of SR 72 and Lickdale Rd. in Union Twp. This crash occurred when Unit 1, a 2012 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Operator 1, a 20 year old Lebanon woman, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 20 year old Lebanon woman, was traveling north on SR 72 and yielding to make a left turn onto Fisher Ave. Unit 1 began making a left turn onto Fisher Ave. when it struck Unit 2, a 2005 Ford Escape, driven by Operator 2, a 69 year old Grantville man, which was traveling south on SR 72 with the right of way.

Operator 1, the front seat Passenger 1, and Operator 2 were evaluated by First Aid Safety Patrol EMS and reported no injuries as a result of this crash. Unit 2 was towed from the scene by W.M. Carroll Incorporated by the request of Operator 2. Operator 1 was cited appropriately.

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 5, 2020 at 5:17 a.m., this crash occurred on I 81 North at the Exit 90 off-ramp in Union Twp. This crash occurred as Operator 1, a 38 year old Anderson, SC man, directed Unit 1, a 2018 Freightliner Cascadia, toward the Exit 90 off-ramp of I 81 North. Operator 1 was traveling too fast for conditions and was unable to navigate Unit 1 through a right curve in the roadway. Unit 1 and the trailing portion of Unit 1 subsequently rolled onto its driver’s side, striking and damaging road markers and a traffic sign in the process.

Unit 1 and the trailing portion of Unit 1 sustained mild damage to its entire driver’s side portion and was towed from the scene by Bethel Truck Service. Operator 1 sustained minor cuts and bruises as a result of this crash and was not transported. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions, Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed, and Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.

Drug Possession – On Sept. 30, 2020 at 11:21 a.m., this incident occurred involving a 2006 Honda Civic on Jonestown Rd. and Yingst Dr.

Theft – On Sept. 15, 2020 at 12:32 p.m., this incident occurred on I 81 North. The Victim was traveling northbound when her kayak and its rack fell off her vehicle. The Victim returned a short time later to retrieve the above items and discovered they were gone. The Victim was a 51 year old Mechanicsburg woman. The stolen items include a Rhino Rack and J-Hooks valued at $600.00 and a ZEP Eclipse Hull #ZEP07076A616 valued at $400.00. Investigation is ongoing.
