LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.

The Pet of the Week will sometimes be a local furbaby who already lives in a happy Lebanon County home. Other times the column will spotlight an animal that’s available for adoption through a local shelter and is seeking a forever family.

This week, meet Smoosh!

Smoosh.

Smoosh, aka Smooshy, is waiting for a home at the Humane Society of Lebanon County.

“Smoosh is an 8-year-old handsome gentlemen that has not has the greatest start in life, yet still chooses to see the good in the world,” Emma, a shelter representative, explains. “He was adopted from the HSLC in 2016. He was returned and adopted again. Years later, he was found as a stray and brought to us.

“We are glad he found his way back where he remains in our care. Each day, Smoosh greets staff with love and affection. He is such a grateful guy.”

While Smoosh had a rough start, the kitty “is a ladies man who has a deeply woven love for his humans,” Emma told LebTown. “Wherever you go he is sure to be right behind you! Shoes are one of his favorite things, and he can most often be found snuggling right up to your feet.”

However, it’s not all smooth sailing for this little love.

“Smoosh is in the early stages of kidney failure, so he is desperately looking for a loving home where he can live out the rest of his days next to the humans he adores,” Emma said.

If you are interested in learning more about Smoosh or setting up an appointment to meet him, please contact the Humane Society at (717) 628-1369 or visit the shelter at lebanonhumane.org.
