LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.

This week, meet Gretel!

Gretel, according to owner Patsy Keller of Lebanon, is a nearly 7-month-old golden retriever puppy.

“I also have her mother and have known her from her first moments of life,” Patsy says. “She’s a pure stinker with a huge personality.”

Sadly, Gretel was born with a cleft palate, Patsy says — meaning the seam at the top of her mouth is open to her sinuses. Patsy says she learned of Gretel’s issue when the puppy was just 3 days old and, since then, she and her daughter have tube-fed Gretel around the clock.

“She is thriving,” Patsy says, despite “a few vets telling us to let her go.”

Gretel is a “little diva,” Patsy adds, and her mother Áine (pronounced Anya), a 3-year-old golden retriever, is “super sweet.”

Keep your eyes open for Gretel and Áine out and about in Lebanon … and take care of yourself, Gretel!!
