Following his recent, well-received exhibition at Lebanon Picture Frame & Fine Art Gallery, LPF is pleased to unveil an expanded selection of new works by nationally recognized oil painter Robert Heilman. Over the past year, Heilman has experienced a notable surge of creative energy, resulting in another substantial and compelling body of fresh paintings. Heilman is a cornerstone of the Lebanon County art community and one of Lebanon County’s most accomplished and respected artists. The exhibition will open on Friday, Dec. 12, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and will remain on view in our gallery until Saturday, Jan. 31.

Recognized for his masterful treatment of light and shadow, Heilman’s paintings in oil are often described as photo-realistic. Yet, to the artist, his work is not about replicating a scene with technical precision, but about capturing its presence and substance. His subjects — ranging from quiet nocturnal townscapes to serene pastoral landscapes — are rendered with a sensitivity that evokes both stillness and intimacy.

Intentionally absent of human figures, Heilman’s paintings resist narrative interpretation. Instead, they invite viewers to experience the essential qualities of place: its mood, its atmosphere, and the emotions it stirs. His newest works continue this exploration, offering viewers another opportunity to engage with art that lingers in memory long after it is seen.

Lebanon Picture Frame & Fine Art Gallery has been serving the regional artistic community since 1999. Aside from professional and quality archival custom framing, its gallery regularly features exhibitions of local artists, as well as unique handcrafted gift items, such as jewelry, paintings, ceramics, sculptures, and more.

Hope for Hurting Parents at North Cornwall Commons Apartment Complex 5th Floor Lounge

Free | 2 p.m., Sunday, December 14 | 114 Blackford Blvd., Lebanon

Hope For Hurting Parents was started by Tom and Dena Yohe in 2011, based on their own 10-year journey with their daughter Renee, who struggled with mental health issues, addiction, and self-injury. They continue to lead free Zoom meetings monthly and send out inspirational emails weekly. They encourage people to start small in-person groups in their own community, which Becky and Joe Duke did three years ago.

People seem to find comfort and strength in meeting with others who have gone through similar situations. At our support group meetings, we discuss one of 22 topics as outlined in Yohe’s workbook, such as self-care, enabling, worry and anxiety, hope, and guarding your family. The workbook also includes prayers, exercises, websites, and other resources.

Support group sessions are free and open to anyone who is a parent, caregiver, or loved one with someone who struggles with mental health issues, estrangement, addictions, gender dysphoria, incarceration, homelessness, or any other problem that causes you to experience emotional and spiritual turmoil. Our mission is to give comfort, encouragement, and hope to hurting parents/caregivers on their journey from surviving to thriving.
